All but about 50 of the 1840 acres planted by the Albion Lumber Company between 1925 and 1929 were Within the burn. It is estimated that 90 per cent of the Douglas fir, but only about 10 per cent of the redwood, will die as a result of the fire. AS 85 per cent of the planted trees were redwoods, the loss of trees will probably not be very great. Sample plots will be laid out in the planted areas to determine more definitely the survival according to severity of burn. The greatest loss will be to natural reproduction and seed trees and in the deterioration of site.
