Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book explores the concept of infinity as it relates to quantity, specifically delving into the question of whether infinity can exist within the realm of nature. The author meticulously examines two opposing theories that have dominated this philosophical inquiry throughout history: the idea that infinity is a valid attribute of quantity, and the view that finitude is the defining characteristic of all quantities. The author traces the evolution of these theories from ancient Greek philosophers to contemporary thinkers, providing a comprehensive analysis of the arguments for and against each perspective. Through a rigorous examination of concepts such as the divisibility of matter, the nature of space, and the limits of human perception, the book challenges conventional assumptions and invites readers to question the fundamental nature of reality. Ultimately, the author concludes that the notion of infinity as an actual attribute of natural quantities is untenable, providing a compelling argument for the primacy of finitude in the physical world. This groundbreaking work offers a fresh perspective on a timeless philosophical debate, shedding new light on the boundaries of human understanding and the nature of the universe we inhabit.
