Uday Mahurkar is a deputy editor with India Today and a political analyst known for the accuracy of his electoral predictions regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi-a task he has performed with aplomb since the 2002 Gujarat assembly polls, often swimming against the tide. Uday is known as an expert on Modi's mind, having followed his political and administrative career closely over the past three decades, from the day he entered the BJP from its parent organization, the RSS, in 1986-87. Uday has added to his expertise after he moved to Delhi in December 2015 to cover the BJP on a national scale, as well as the RSS and the Prime Minister's Office, for India Today. His tenure in the capital has given him rare insight into various facets of the Modi regime.
