Synopsis
As we mark six decades of the signing of the Indus Waters Treaty between India and Pakistan, Uttam Kumar Sinha presents a vivid historical narrative of the Indus Basin and how it shaped India's history. It looks at the interplay of the territory and politics through the ages, starting from the Indus Valley Civilization to the medieval and colonial periods till the time of Partition and the difficult years of negotiation that led to the treaty.

À propos de l'auteur
Uttam Kumar Sinha is a senior fellow at the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, and a research fellow at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses. His research areas include international politics, climate change, transboundary water issues and the Arctic region. He is also the managing editor of Strategic Analysis, a peer-reviewed journal published by Routledge.
