Vendeur : David Hallinan, Bookseller, Columbus, MS, Etats-Unis
Hardcover. Etat : Good. Etat de la jaquette : Good. 1st Edition. First edition (per publisher's" "First published . . . " statement upon copyright page) INSCRIBED, DATED, AND SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR ALONG WITH ORIGINAL HANDWRITTEN POEM ON SEPARATE LAID-IN SHEET. [8], 118 pages. Hardcover: H 20.75cm x L 14.25cm. Light yellow dust jacket soiled; spine panel toned; a few nicks at edges; light crease at top of rear panel; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Black cloth spine; black boards. Dull orange top edge; some toning and light soiling to fore-edge; novelist Nancy Hallinan's frequent pencil check marks amongst Table of Contents pages with additional pencil markings scattered among various poems. Binding is firm. A good copy in a good+ dust jacket. Acquired from the estate of novelist Nancy Hallinan with the author's three-line inscription upon the half-title page (two lines at top and the third at the bottom): "For Nancy Hallinan | with my thanks and best wishes - | March 25, 1975 Samuel Menashe." Laid-in at front endpapers is a folded standard letter-sized sheet with nine-line poem titled "March" which all appears to be in Menashe's handwriting and concluded with an inscription split between left and right sides at sheet's bottom "From Nancy Hallinan | with my thanks | Samuel Menashe | NYC | March 14, 1975." The book's signature features a cursive "S" for Samuel whereas the poem's signature has more of a script "S" but this seems to be consistent with various examples found online. Also it is a bit puzzling why the poem's inscription is phrased "From Nancy Hallinan" but unfortunately clarification is an impossibility as both inscriber and inscribee have both passed.
