Synopsis

Chasing Shadows is both the story of a young man's experiences in the Holocaust and a record of a vanished world, the vibrant and tightly-knit Jewish community of Carpathia, decimated during the Nazi occupation of Hungary. In a manuscript writtenshortly after the war, Hugo Gryn, who endeared himself to millions through his radio appearances on Moral Maze, described his experiences under the Nazis. Transferred first to Auschwitz, and then the work camp Lieberose, with only his father to protect and guide him, Hugo Gryn described the daily struggle for survival and the tragedy that awaited his family after Liberation.
