Synopsis
Kelly Trost, daughter of a corrupt American senator, is kidnapped, and Lieutenant Colonel Evan Burton is assigned to the case. But someone close to Burton is willing to stop him rescuing Kelly, as he races against time to determine his allies from his betrayers.

Kelly Trost, a beautiful young American aid worker in Azerbaijan is kidnapped by a group of revolutionaries and although Kelly is the daughter of a corrupt senator, there seems to be no apparent reason. American serviceman Lt. Col. Evan Burton, with twenty well-respected years of service behind him, knows the Republic inside out and is assigned to the Trost case. After two days the US Embassy receive ridiculous demands from a group calling themselves The Sons of Salvation and it looks like Kelly is being held by Islamic fundamentalists. But is she? The plot thickens and turns with increasing speed as someone close to Burton is willing to stop him pulling off Kelly's rescue and he has to determine his allies from his betrayers.

Lieutenant-colonel Ralph Peters is a novelist and a US army officer and is considered to be one of the best military minds of his generation.
