Synopsis
The RMS Titanic struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic at 11.40pm on 14 April 1912. By 2.20am on 15 April, the last visible section of the Titanic sank below the waters. More than 1500 people lost their lives. This text attempts to separate fiction from fact, reporting on what actually happened.

The R.M.S. Titanic struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic at 11.40pm on April 14, 1912. By 2.20am on April 15, the last visible section of the Titanic sank below the icy ocean waters. More than 1,500 passengers and crew lost their lives. Only 700 people survived.
It has been called the greatest sea tragedy of all time. In the wake of the disaster, the Titanic and the events surrounding its ill-fated journey have become part of twentieth-century myth. As with all great mysteries, much has been written and said about the event either stretches the truth or disregards it entirely.
Now TOTAL TITANIC will separate fiction from fact and report on what actually happened as best we know it, from personal memories, official records, and discoveries made on recent expeditions to the ship's ocean-bottom grave.
