Soft cover. Etat : Very Good. 1st Edition. Indianapolis, IN: Bobbs-Merrill, 1966. Softcover original, Stated First Edition, Signed by three contributors (see images) on their respective play introduction pages: Paul Foster (p. 167, inscribed in black ink to legendary NYC bookseller Burt Britton at 'Balls'); Joel Oppenheimer (p. 127, flat-signed in blue ink at 'The Great American Desert'); and Lanford Wilson (p. 57, flat-signed in blue ink at 'The Madness of Lady Bright'), 5.5 x 8.5 inches, 281 pp. Introduction by Co-editor, Michael Smith; illustrated with B&W photographs. Stiff card covers show minimal edge wear and faint toning; spine remains uncreased, text block tight and clean, light paste line shows on the title page image, but text is solid. Binding is so tight that it was difficult to open the book wide enough for the pictures. An anthology of eight influential Off-Off Broadway plays, offering a snapshot of New York's experimental theater scene during the 1960s and featuring works by several notable playwrights of the era. Book condition: VG, protected in a soiled acetate cover. A very unusual find for a collector. Books are shipped quickly and securely packed in a new box. Signed by Author(s).
