Book by Malcolm John

John Malcolm is the author of 15 Tim Simpson mysteries, as well as a number of books on art and antiques. He was chairman of the Crime Writers Association 1994-5, and was Chairman of the Trustees of Rye Art Gallery 1995-2004. He read Engineering at Cambridge and worked as an international marketing consultant, travelling extensively. He and his wife, Geraldine, were founder members of the Antique Collectors Club. They live in a Sussex village near Hastings and Rye, seaside towns which - with Brighton - feature in many of his novels.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It told me a lot about the artist, Gwen John, and her lonely life. It describes the tumultous life of the sculptor, Rodin, and his lady friends, including Gwen John. Tim Simpson is an intriguing and likeable hero, and the pace quickens as he comes close to his goal. --James - Reader
It reminded me a bit of the James Bond novels but with the additional interest of the art side of the plot. --Sheila P - Reader
