F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940) was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. Upon graduating from Princeton, he served in the Army and worked briefly in advertising. He married his wife, Zelda, in 1920, a week after his first novel, This Side of Paradise, was published. His works, considered by many to be classics, include The Great Gatsby, Tender is the Night, and the uncompleted The Last Tycoon. He died of a heart attack at the age of 44.
Robert Sean Leonard has starred on the New York and London stages and in such films as Dead Poets Society, Much Ado About Nothing, Swing Kids, and The Age of Innocence. He can currently be seen in the hit medical drama, House, M.D.
Bill Irwin, playwright and actor, has starred on Broadway in Edward Albee's The Goat and his own Fool Moon; he has also performed several works by Samuel Beckett and has a recurring role on Sesame Street.
Dylan Baker, an award-winning stage performer and Tony® nominee, has appeared in over 20 films, among them A Gentleman's Game, Random Hearts, and Happiness; he has been a series regular on Murder One and Feds.
This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. While some publishers have opted to apply OCR (optical character recognition) technology to the process, we believe this leads to sub-optimal results (frequent typographical errors, strange characters and confusing formatting) and does not adequately preserve the historical character of the original artifact. We believe this work is culturally important in its original archival form. While we strive to adequately clean and digitally enhance the original work, there are occasionally instances where imperfections such as blurred or missing pages, poor pictures or errant marks may have been introduced due to either the quality of the original work or the scanning process itself. Despite these occasional imperfections, we have brought it back into print as part of our ongoing global book preservation commitment, providing customers with access to the best possible historical reprints. We appreciate your understanding of these occasional imperfections, and sincerely hope you enjoy seeing the book in a format as close as possible to that intended by the original publisher.
