An ex-publisher, past Chair of the Crime Writers' Association, and lifelong Londoner, Natasha Cooper writes for a variety of newspapers and journals, including Crime Time and The Times Literary Supplement. She contributes to many radio programmes such as Woman's Hour and Saturday Review, and regularly speaks at crime-writing conferences on both sides of the Atlantic.
She is the author of, among many others, FAULT LINES, PREY TO ALL and OUT OF THE DARK. In 2002 she was shortlisted for the Dagger in the Library, an award that 'goes to the author whose work has given most pleasure to readers'.
Trish Maguire is furious when Kara, the social worker and friend she's depending on for her latest case, fails to turn up for court. But when she finds out Kara's been viciously attacked and battered to death in her own home, the anger turns to shock, and a determination to get to the truth. At first the police suspect she's another victim of the Kingsford Rapist, but Trish is convinced that this is a set-up by the real murderer. Following up several leads within the local council, Kara's friends and a mysterious lover, Trish puts herself in very real danger before she gets to the truth.
