Included are the stories of John Spenkelink, who was killed in Florida in 1979; Velma Barfield of North Carolina, the first woman executed since the Supreme Court's decision; and Morris Mason, a person with retardation who was killed in Virginia. They were human beings I had talked with, gotten to know as individuals.The original murder was terrible.
