Synopsis

"Saved by Glory" is a light and fast paced novelette with bits of humor in its action and dialogue. It tells the story of demons and angels struggling to win the soul of one man. Moloch, an older demon, working to steal a Man's soul has been thwarted by angelic forces. Prominent in saving the Man are heavenly signs called a "Glory" or "Gloria"--flashes or disks of light seen as signs of grace and protection. Continued failure by Moloch leads him, reluctantly, to enlist the aid of other demons--Asmodeus, Ahriman, Ahrim and Temptation 16. The demons while sinister and evil are not flawless. They plot and argue; they use goblins, ogres and witches in their plans. They bicker and make mistakes--for demons cannot be trusted to do right even among themselves. The angels naturally work smoothly and strongly as a group. Guardian angels Cornelius and George 6234 are joined by Cristobal, Franciscus and Mercy 1021. The angels work to keep the Man from falling victim to devilish schemes. Soon the fight for one, solitary man's soul takes on larger proportions. It becomes a major battle with Lucifer and Jehovah becoming personally involved.
