In Double Feature! author M. J. Scott delivers two journals of advice, tribute and home-spun humor. First up is "Just Call Me Mom" which brings into intuitive focus what being a mother really means in our stressed and emotionally fragmented world. She follows that up in her hilarious account of life with a talking garment in "The Purple Bathrobe." "Just Call Me Mom" takes a generational look at the critical role that love plays in the relationships among children, mothers and grandmothers. Author Scott draws from her long career as an educator working with children and their parents and grandparents to capture unconditional love in her word canvas so that the reader can be reminded in a glance the healing power of love. For over thirty years, M. J. Scott has worn her beloved purple bathrobe, which has born witness to the countless dramas, achievements and social events of her successful lifetime. Once she had the thought, "If this robe could talk!", she realized that her hilarious conversations with her uniquely talented bathrobe would serve to lighten life for her readers. And so "The Purple Bathrobe" was born! A wily and devoted observer of her life, the bathrobe likes to question her actions so that the author can confirm the wisdom of the daily choices she makes. The conversations are humorous and affectionate, and the reader is likely to learn a thing or two also from this veteran, frequently-worn garment! The well-traveled M. J. Scott, USA, bubbles with enthusiasm that overpowers dull words on paper. Her greatest joy is in meeting people and discovering their hidden gifts and talents.

Marilyn studied education at Manchester College, earning her BS in Education and then her MA in Mass Communications at Norfolk State University. She completed all but her dissertation in the doctoral program of Education Administration at California Coast University. A retired gifted-students teacher who began her career working at Dr. Albert Schweitzer Elementary School in Anaheim, California, Marilyn next devoted 20 years to teaching in the public-school systems of two Virginia cities. Marilyn has also spent years with her own photography business and philanthropic work. In 2015, she became co-founder of The Writer’s Council, an organization serving to encourage aspiring writers to achieve their dreams to become published. One of her proudest recognitions is the magazine profile recognition in "Women of Distinction" in 2016. The author (as M. J. Scott, USA) believes that naming organizations and achievements is a bat of the eye for readers. Much more important, she believes, is the love communicated through genuine sharing of homespun adventures and word-captures of ordinary life. With her characteristic bubbly personality, Marilyn uses humor to connect with readers. This radiates throughout The Purple Bathrobe and underlies the inspirational tribute to motherhood in Just Call Me Mom. This is the sixth book by author, M. J. Scott, USA. Her other volumes include Journey to Fulfillment, Time on the Turn, Power Steering, Power Steering 2 and the novel, Sport's Alien Fantasy co-authored with Daniel Wetta.
