How do you go from Air Force Pilot to writer, especially if you flunked English in high school? For Jon Drury the journey started with a longing to write, and a trip to the Mount Hermon Writer’s Conference in 1992. There he took Beginner’s Basics from Ethel Herr, the author of Introduction to Christian Writing. The dream was born. The next conference he heard of an editor looking for bulletin devotionals, short inspirational pieces about God crafted to speak to the need of believers attending church that morning. Expanding from devotional writing, he grew into writing magazine articles, then finally books, having published 400+ pieces. Seeing the benefit of conferences he birthed the Christian Writers Seminar which over 21 years often ministered to over 200 writers and writing instructors. Part of Jon’s mission in writing is to birth new writers, heal hurting believers, and point to the life altering miracle of faith in Christ.
