Synopsis

The American governmental system is broken. Amending the Constitution is required to fix it. This book proposes a comprehensive constitutional amendment referred to as a Bill of Reform that is capable of repairing the critical flaws in our governmental system that prevent it from operating as a true representative democracy. Currently our broken government is being manipulated to promote and protect the financial interests of the ultra wealthy 1% and big businesses over and above the financial and other interests of 99% of American citizens. Adoption and ratification of the Bill of Reform will result in our governmental system promoting and protecting the financial and other interests of all citizens, and not just those of the ultra wealthy and big businesses. The solutions provided by the Bill of Reform include: electing presidents by popular vote; eliminating gerrymandering by electing House members at large; eliminating voter suppression by having Congress enact a uniform voting procedure for all federal and state elections; using estate tax revenue to exclusively fund federal election campaigns; limiting federal election campaign spending to the candidates; eliminating most income tax loopholes, which generates $1.8 billion additional revenue without increasing tax rates; using the $1.8 trillion to fund the cost of a $1.6 trillion Medicare For All program that pays every citizen's entire health care costs; regulating health care costs to eliminate price gouging; requiring the federal and state governments enact effective gun control laws; prohibiting laws that impose a sects religious beliefs regarding issues like abortion on other citizens; limiting citizenship status to human beings, granting every citizen an undeniable right to vote; and limiting the right to lobby the federal government to citizens entitled to vote. The millennial and younger generations support all of the foregoing reforms, which means the Bill of Reform will eventually be adopted and ratified when they constitute a majority voting bloc that is capable of electing federal and state politicians committed to supporting the amendment.
