Synopsis

Carla Flores, a homeless ex-cop, is living her nightmares. Her mind, a juxtaposition of real life, night terrors, and cocaine, leaves her isolated on the streets of Albuquerque. She constantly struggles to rid herself of the memories that overlay her waking hours – a traumatic shootout during a case of mistaken identity, being overpowered and taken hostage while her partner lay dying... The dangers of the long nights seem ready to swallow her completely until she is found by an unlikely companion – a stray dog named Rivet. Carla’s only salvation in a city that has forgotten her walks on four feet – a life line out of the darkness and into the light.

À propos de l'auteur

Nicole was born in Shelbyville, Indiana back when disco was king and Soul Train was serving up swag. She lived her childhood in Columbus, Ohio, where in the first grade, she discovered her passion for writing. From that time on, she spent her spare time reading and writing stories (along with acting, singing, and drawing). During her freshman year of high school, she met the man she was going to marry, Tim Gramlich. A shared passion for video games sealed the deal, and the two were inseparable. In 1997 they were engaged, and the very next year they packed up the car, the cat, and a trash can full of fish and set out for the beautiful blue skies of Albuquerque. The pair were married in 1999 and had two children very shortly after. In Albuquerque, Nicole got involved in acting on a serious basis (even landing a guest star role on NBC's In Plain Sight). While she played on different stages and sets, Nicole attended the University of New Mexico - honing her craft and earning a degree in creative writing. She was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society in 2008.
