This workbook is intended for advanced ASL students to individually fill-in ASL vocabulary signs as they are learned to create a personal dictionary. Included in this book are directions on how to utilize the transcriptions system, SignWriting techniques and examples to guide the vocabulary entries. Also included is a small section for a handshape thesaurus, an index to keep the dictionary organized, and reference charts commonly used in advanced ASL courses.

Jacalyn Marosi (most commonly known as "Jacs") has a contagious passion for the Deaf-World. She began teaching ASL in 2005 and quickly realized that her career was destined for higher education. Jacs loves educating people about the Deaf-World nearly as much as she loves the Deaf community, their culture and their language, American Sign Language. She is hearing but respects the Deaf community immensely and was deemed as “Deaf at heart” by a culturally Deaf colleague who serves as a consistent source of encouragement. In 2013 she established an Associate Degree program in ASL Studies at North Idaho College (NIC). Her work as an educator gained notoriety as her students transferred from NIC to Universities. As a hobby, Jacs enjoys graphic design and began creating charts, documents, and even workbooks to aid in student's academic process. By combining passion, work, and hobby, she unintentionally created a demand for her first published workbook commonly referred to as the “ASL Vocab Book”. She often expresses her thankfulness for being able to do what she loves as a career.
