I guess writing this book come from life experiences. It became very difficult at some point as an adult to function in society because of being so blinded by love and no clue of the big bad world that awaited me. It was when I reached the age of forty-something and after my mom passed, that I became aware of how cruel life could be. I then plunged myself and two very young daughters Oniza Jarie Baker/Price) (GiGi) and Shronda Leigh Baker (LeLe) into the church world, dedicating our time to every aspect of the church. Teaching Sunday school, becoming a Director of one the best praise dance ministry in Humble, Texas if not the best across the city of Houston, singing in the choir, praise and worship leader, and just keeping myself and daughters church actively involved in every ministry available to us. After one day back in 1996, 97 laying prostrate, God spoke to me and said I would preach to the world. In disbelief, I shunned the idea but kept on the path to get there because God had said this is what He was calling me to do. In the month of December of 2001, I received my certificate/license as an ordained evangelist and attempted to pursue what God said for me to do as a minister. Well, all of a sudden life for me took me down the darkest black a scariest road ever!! I lost everything!!! I was now faced with the harsh reality of being in my late forties, caught without any financial backing and a whole new set of life’s troubles and problems, of what I thought and could only see as a ending to my life. Spiraling downward at a very high rate of speed with no substance in sight, just merely co-existing, I then happened upon singing in a band and finding myself loving what I always love to do most; Is Sing!!!. Looking out into those people’s faces when I sang and seeing smiles and people having fun brought more joy to me than anything going on in my life at the time. Being raised in an environment where music, playing instruments was life and fun for me as a child, allowed me to embraced the Houston, Texas stages with Love. Propositioned by one of my facebook friends one day after singing in the band for a year, author Carl Henegan, came to know me somewhat from my entertainment side Said, “Jaz, (my stage name), you need to write a book." While he grazed my page daily, reading inspirational quotes I would post. Those quotes were unknowingly the makings of this book.
