Synopsis

Thoreau said "Some men fish all their lives without discovering it's not fish they are after." The Turtle and Other Stories is a collection of short stories that are nominally about fly fishing, but are really about friendship, relationships, and life. If you're not a fly angler, you might learn some small things about the sport and if you are a fly angler, you might learn some small things about the unique regionalism of fly fishing in the South. The Turtle and Other Stories covers subjects from the absurdities of wrestling with a beaver to snake handlers to land developers to kids and wives and girlfriends and broken hearts, to ghosts and the tenuous relationships between sons and fathers, to the wonder that is friendship. The author hopes the reader enjoys the characters in this collection of stories. He certainly has.
