Synopsis

Eliot Waters and Sharon Hardcastle are a Colorado Couple. He’s the Lake County Sheriff in Leadville and she’s a detective on the Pueblo police force. Their geographic separation is only one part of the problem. One of Eliot’s former lovers, Cassie Maugham, suddenly zooms into town and wants to resume their affair, one which she tossed away many years ago. At the same time, Sharon is forced by Pueblo's mayor, Brian Mansfield, to investigate Frank Streckfus, a member of the city council and a former Army buddy who appears to have much greater wealth than he should. Chance Cullen, just released from the Colorado State Prison in Canon City, is a new arrival to Pueblo. He lands a janitorial job at Parkview Medical Center, keeps a low profile, and patiently waits for an opportunity to settle some old scores.
