Throughout her career in the animal field, Donna Harrison and has witnessed many children eager to learn about bats, snakes, and other unhuggable animals...only to be turned away by parents with a "yuck" or an "eww". Since many of these very animal species are in need of us for their survival, she sought out ways to disparage some of the myths and fears surrounding them. "The book is a fun read for kids and adults. Once people realize that all animals have a job to do, often those those "ewws" are replaced by "cool!" The book also includes projects (such as owl boxes and toad abodes) and tips on how to get children started practicing those awesome animal skills now." Ms. Harrison has a Bachelors degree in Zoology from The Ohio State University, and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Education from Nova Southeastern University.
