25-year-old beauty, Oma had a sudden recollection of a dark past while sitting in a counselor’s office in Mountain View California. Her visit to the counselor was for an unrelated issue, but a question from the counselor to Oma, triggered a series of suppressed memories. Oma, who was usually used to being in control of her emotions, was suddenly no longer in control and was forced to deal with it. Oma unsuccessfully attempted to redirect the topic back to why she was there, but she soon broke down and began to talk about her memories.

Uzo Amaka was born in Oakland California, to a Nigerian father and American mother. From age’s two to twelve, she was raised in Lagos Nigeria with her paternal family and then returned to the United States at age twelve. She has grown to embrace both sides of her heritage and loves to visit Nigeria occasionally. She currently lives in Northern California and enjoys traveling, reading, dancing and her new found love in writing. Uzo never set-out to write a book based on her life story, or any other book for that matter, but after years of hearing from random people who heard a brief synopsis of her upbringing, that she should write a book , she soon took heed to those opinions and began to write. “Ages of Suffocation: Remembered Dreams” is Uzo Amaka’s first book.
