If there is one thing life shows us time and again it is that the world around us remains our most influential classroom. The catalyst by which we witness the breadth of this classroom in all its rich abundance and infinite wonder remains a soul, mind, and body experience uniquely our own. For Bashon Mann, his discovery unfurled through the eyes of his children. Daddy's Love Notes is a passionate and emotionally stirring compilation of letters written to the author's children over the course of three years; each letter holding a series of life lessons endured by the author on his journey from adolescence to adulthood. The morals attached to each letter are meant to provide the author's children a ‘roadmap’ or ‘guide’ used to navigate life as they grow older; or as he puts it – “a bit of light for the end of your torch.” This book, this compass, offers its reader an intimate look into a life journey through the lens of a father talking to his children. The author carefully paints lessons of love and understanding by way of the challenges and awakenings of his life experience. It’s an open diary which holds his mistakes, triumphs, fears, loves, and desires for his children. Daddy's Love Notes is one man's compassionately scripted, oft comedic and sincere take on life and the belief that amidst all the noise that surrounds us on a daily basis; we each ultimately arrive at our own key ingredients to life success. For this author, that success lay somewhere between pancakes are OK for dinner and VICTORY is getting your children to school on time. Daddy’s Love Notes represents more than just a singular tribute to the author’s daughters and the change they have brought to his life. This collection of poignant essays are intended to speak to the spirit of those who hold true to what is inherently good in the world we live in; treasure what laughter brings to the soul and triumph from embracing the range of heartfelt emotion within us that makes our lives full from one imperfect day to the next. Daddy's Love Notes is an inspiring read that captures a 'bit of light' for all of us.
