Preface I read somewhere that one should not sign his or her name to anything until he or she has written volumes, and volumes of material. This collection I give you has come about through my depression, insomnia, the burying of loved ones and the treachery that that entails, many late nights courting a beautiful bottle of whiskey looking at the future world as if it were indeed saturated with shit. Many of the words herein came as natural as the nonsense that, by my own admission, I have allowed to saturate my life. Others I labored over in an attempt to breach something inside of me yet untapped. All the while a cold sort of energy has been successful in carrying this pen of mine in search of this, or that, attempting to establish in my own mind some hilarious truth concerning something or another to do with the proof inside the fact that the reality of it all is… I haven’t the foggiest idea! Here in the street that is just enough life’s breath to keep one drifting in the show window of the here and now .This, my fearful bewilderment, a delightfully demented possession of just the right touch of something to give words poignancy. I think. The proof I’ve found is that the facts have no meaning except what’s given to those who have established said facts. Cannibals and cutthroats all of them! This, the "BANG SERIES” is me perpetually spending every single drop of energy I have in an attempt to find balance. I sign it passionately, with enthusiasm and love. about the Author . . . Truth be told and uncloaked, June is a Social Activist. He uses his form of eclectic verse as an advocacy for the downtrodden, disenfranchised, the hopeless found amongst us in a corrupt inequitable social fabric. But know that Poetry and Writing is not his only means of having an impact on his world and his personal environment. Over many years since his own awakening and transformation he has been a mentor to many youth found on the streets of our lands. He encourages them to become a part of the voice of the people who must be heard. June says it is important to us all if were are to make some much needed changes. Mr. Barefield has also served in the Military, domestically and abroad. This experience provided him an exposure and enlightening to the great divide of principle employed to maintain a “Status Quo”. With this burden of reality his various life circumstances provided to him, June began to formulate a deep conviction that would not let him go and he began to thirst for more knowledge. In reading Junes work you will have the opportunity to experience this “Soul-Set” through his words in a profound way. One of Junes favorite past times is to go to the park and quack at the Ducks He says they have more sensible conversation than many of his “contemporaries” . . . especially the Geese. June says that they understand the Law of Reciprocity; Give & Take . . . he gives them bread crumbs and they give him their company . . . No one is a slave to either side of the equation.
