Synopsis

“A Minor Poet In A Minor Key” traces the development of a highly-skilled poet/lyricist who began writing creatively at a very young age. The author’s first published works date back to the late 1970s while he was an editor on his campus newspaper, and the editor of the college literary magazine. A hiatus of nearly 30 years ensued while he worked successively as a print journalist, and then as a college professor. But in 2006 his creative work re-emerged and over the next 9 years, his output was significant averaging nearly 20 poems/lyrics per year. In “A Minor Poet In A Minor Key,” Michael Incitti includes the best of those works covering a broad array of subject matter, many of which are topical today, and some of which are timeless. As an added bonus, and perhaps as a nod to his academic background, Michael includes detailed description of how the poems originated from thought to pen to page. This award-winning journalist and poet presents exceptional diction, phrasing, rhythm and rhyme, and overall musicality, in every poem.
