Synopsis

This work was written out of the price that has been personally paid to begin ‘new works in the Lord’ over the years. In spite of my zeal to serve the Lord, and perhaps even because of it, I have made mistakes over the years. It is out of these failures that I have found the grace to persevere. I have chosen to speak not only from the position of strength, but also out of the weaknesses and failures. It is my prayer that the Holy Spirit might use the lessons from this study to guard many from the abuses and pain that our enemy endeavors to lay upon us, while encouraging many others to plunge into greater measures of obedience to the voice of the Holy Spirit. It seems that there are special difficulties and opposition in beginning a new work for God at the direction of the Holy Spirit. This is especially true if there is any element of restoration, reformation, or drastic change from the status quo of our current circumstances involved. I have been especially concerned about those in countries outside of the United States who have had far fewer resources to draw upon than their western brothers. They are so often dependent upon the direction of the Holy Spirit alone, where the traditions of cultures and religions often stand in strong opposition to their obedience to the direction of the Holy Spirit. The imported colonization, by some missionaries from ‘across the seas,’ has frequently stifled the expression of the Holy Spirit in many of God’s dear saints. Over the years, the content of this work has been taught in the open platform of didactic, classroom style teaching. At this time, I would like to cultivate and nurture a dialog format of reciprocating interaction similar to that, which was indicated in Acts 20:7, where the text indicates that Paul talked to the brethren. Many people have commented that they have met the ‘characters’ in this story in their own lives in one form or another, and have heard these same attacks of the enemy at various times. There has been wonderful healing of heart and restoration of vision and purpose in the lives of many because of this simple teaching. They have been encouraged to proceed with their vision and the ‘word of their King’ in their lives. My prayer is that as you read this book the Holy Spirit will also minister to you.

À propos de l'auteur

Dave Woodrum is the co-founder and a co-director of Harvest of Jubilee Groups, International; a Christian missionary organization, headquartered in the city of Tacoma, Washington, USA. In this capacity he has had the privilege of teaching and preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God in a number of nations, primarily within the south-eastern and central Asian countries of the 10/40 window. Since 1987, he has been involved in training, equipping and releasing believers into an enlarged capacity to enjoy and fulfill their fellowship in God. One of his greatest passions is the cultivation and nurturing of ‘every member involvement’ (EMI) within the church. As an apostle, Dave Woodrum makes every effort to encourage and strengthen those with whom he is related who are involved in the current restoration and reformation movements of the Holy Spirit.
