At its heart, "The Philosophy of Emerson" is a conversation between two great American thinkers—Transcendentalist essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson and New Thought leader Ernest Holmes. Early in his career, inspired by the writings of Ralph Waldo Emerson, Ernest Holmes wrote a collection of responses to Emerson’s essays “History” and “Spiritual Laws.” Through intensive research, Holmes’ hand-written notes have been integrated into the Essays themselves, resulting in a powerful book that not only connects the Transcendental ideas of Emerson to the spiritual philosophy of Ernest Holmes, but also offers an enlightening perspective into the minds of these two compelling philosophers.
