From magick to mundane . . . The troika of deities intends to have their fun regardless of human fragility—and mankind does break so easily. Candy and Thorne serve as celestial pawns from two separate domains: one from a simpler world with magick, the other from a place of hustle and bustle and technology. The Sun God consigns his challenge but the couple has no knowledge what the bored deity has concocted for them. When the couple portal to Candy’s home realm of ‘Savannah’, the surroundings present the most bizarre magic Thorne has seen—Candy calls these oddities ‘machines’ and ‘technology’. He becomes familiarized to many of the realm’s devices, some remarkable, others surely transgressions against gifts of the Earth Mother. Food within Candy’s realm is unique as well. Thorne becomes quite fond of what she calls ‘hamburgers’, though they contain neither pork nor smoked ham—a strange land indeed! A domain where gold coin is substituted for a square of slippery ‘plastic’, ale is stored in metal cans, and zippers fasten stiff pants called jeans. Only for Candy would Thorne suffer to trade comfortable soft leathers for such scratchy clothing that make him itch. Magnificent color bathes Candy’s domain and strengthens Thorne’s objectives. First, locate and return the Omega crystal to Chroma, to thereby rebalance the Infinity Link and return color. Secondly, Thorne intends to apprehend his brother, the craven murderer who stole the crystal and left a trail of carnage in his wake. Time grows short when they are forewarned they have limited days in this realm . . . else suffer dire consequences.

Reading should be a journey filled with anticipation, whether into dark mystery and mayhem, action and thrills, humor, or the trials of life and love. S. Yurvati chooses reading vs. TV in most cases. Why? Because your psyche creates an entirely different experience when it travels from your eyes through the paths of your mind (besides, books don’t contain commercials about your breath, body odor or other un-pleasantries). She enjoys a variety of genres and by sixth grade began writing poetry and short stories in notebooks. Yep, leaky ballpoint pens and ruled paper. That was back in the historical era of cursive writing (gasp) and before computers (double gasp!). Now she types away on her MAC, in Texas, as her herd of six cats critiques her work. They are especially harsh at their expected dinnertime! Luckily her devoted husband offers unconditional support even when dinner isn’t served in a timely manner.
