Michael S. Syslo, born in 1946, has had the blessing of a wonderful family and two 25-year careers: one in information technology and one in the non-profit industry. A good portion of both careers has been spent (under various titles) helping people to better understand their roles and the tools that are given for their use. Most of his life has been spent focusing on others. He has been a writer through both careers, writing technical manuals, computer code, systems designs, newsletter articles, answering questions regarding rules, bylaws, and governance issues. Being a comfortable public speaker, he has presented many workshops and seminars. His personal focus for the past 35 years has been his own personal spiritual growth. Born and raised in Chicago, he has lived in a number of cities, large and small. In his retirement, he has returned to the Chicago area.
