This is a memoir of an Alaskan adventurer. He piloted the first foreign aircraft into Siberia to conduct low level wildlife surveys. He was the first person to pedal a watercraft from Seattle to Alaska. He has surveyed the entire north Pacific Ocean for bald eagles and their nests. His life was rich with tragedy and triumph.

The author's childhood was spent in Arlington, Virginia during the cold war. He moved to Alaska after college to pursue a career as a wildlife biologist. He managed Alaskan bald eagles for 10 years before becoming a wildlife pilot and flying airplanes across Alaska, Siberia and Canada. He turned tragedy into personal challenges on the sea with self propelled watercraft and sailboats. The wildlife survey airplane he flew for 24 years is on display in the Anchorage International Airport for the public to view, a legacy of his unique career.
