Synopsis
Designed to motivate students, this text details practical, hands-on experiments teach the standard topics of physical and historical geology. Features include: enhanced text narratives before each lab, explaining concepts and background information; pre-lab question sets consisting of both short-answer and more in-depth questions to be completed as homework before conducting the lab; lab activities, involving both experiments and map and photograph exercises; and post-lab problems designed as take-home exercises which challenge students to investigate classical exercises and geologic scenarios. A special section on historical geology is also included.
