Book Description
John Foster Fraser was a professional journalist whose brilliant travel articles and books were famous at the end of the last century and for more than two decades of this one. In July 1896 he set out on the remarkable journey recorded in this book, accompanied by two friends.
They cycled for 19,237 miles, through 17 countries and across three continents, returning to London after two years and two months of adventurous travel.
Fraser's book is a vivid, exciting and absorbing account of that truly amazing global journey, undertaken at a time when very few of the inhabitants of eastern Europe and Asia had ever seen a bicycle.
