"Commentary on the Criminal Procedure Act" is a section-by-section commentary on the Criminal Procedures Act, with the regulations, a table of cases and an index. The work, first published in loose-leaf in 1987, should be a useful reference for all involved in criminal law in South Africa and is also extensively used in southern African states and Namibia. This publication is now available in a soft cover binding. The new format should prove useful for students and some practitioners who do not require the work for long-term reference purposes. The nature of the binding and the paper used has enabled the publishers to produce the work at a lower price than the loose-leaf volume. The contents, style, format and layout of this edition are exactly the same as that of the loose-leaf work. The soft cover volume is therefore available as a normal textbook and wil not be updated by means of revision services or supplements. The title continues to be available in the traditional loose-leaf format which is updated every six months by means of replacement pages.
