Synopsis

Picture a hotel room in 1948 Singapore. A dispute is under way between black marketeer and thief Russell Pearce and an associate, which ends up with Pearce's murder. Fast forward to present day Pennsylvania where young Doug Pearce has always found stories about his Uncle Russ fascinating. So, when a letter arrives from an old friend of his uncle inviting him to Toronto, Doug accepts. On arrival, he finds himself enlisted by the wealthy and glamorous Edna to play detective and solve the murder of his uncle and exonerate the chief suspect. But by the end of his first day, Doug knows he's made a mistake and it becomes clear that someone else is interested in his quest. From Morocco to Egypt to Bahrain to Singapore, Doug stumbles on facing danger all the way.
