Synopsis

This book tells the story of three flights which set out to visit as many UK airports as possible with quite severe time, weather and financial limitations. The photographs were taken during the flights. They often graphically illustrate the poor weather and visibility which made these flights quite an adventure at limes. On top of this, the 'flightdeck' of a Cessna 172 is a small workplace with the glazed areas made of perspex, which does nothing to enhance photography let alone the vision of the pilot! Landings can be very demanding with the actual runway becoming just visible during the final stages. British pilots soon learn to live with poor weather and visibility. Enjoy this account of what it feels like to be there. Visual Flight Rules in the UK allow minima below 3, 000ft of visibility 5km. clear of cloud and in sight of ground. Gripping stuff when travelling at over two miles a minute below a continuous 500ft cloudba.se in rain.
