Biographie de l'auteur

Bob Pixton is the author of several pictorial histories, four having been published previously by Kestrel. These have covered the various lines between Liverpool and Manchester and the Great Western lines around Stratford-upon-Avon. Originally from the North-west, Bob now lives with his wife in Swindon, where he recently retired from teaching. The late Eric Bentley's lifelong love affair with steam began as a schoolboy, when he boarded an L&Y radial tank every day. His photographs were later published in Backtrack and Steam Railway, his article 'The Golden Years' recalling the years of BR steam before 1968. He was also awarded first prize in the artistic section of the 1968 Railway Enthusiasts Club/Ian Allan Railway Photographic competition.
