This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. Using simple language and many illustrations, it covers most of the design principles and approaches and provides a wealth of information on the construction of the repeat. Originally published in 1903 we are here republishing this improtant works with a new introductory biography of the author. Lewis Foreman Day was a designer and decorative artist, he was also one of the major design reformers of the later nineteenth century – central in promoting the newly propagated Arts and Crafts movement.
