This guide to training gundogs for all types of shooting explains clearly how to follow a simple sequence of lessons from the moment a puppy is bought. Further chapters cover advanced retrieving, hunting and points to look out for when breeding gundogs. Joe Irving became a professional gundog trainer and field trial handler in 1972. In 1979 he won the McNeill Professinal Handler's Cup. He has written regularly for "Sporting Gun", "Shooting News" and "Working Gundog" and is the author of "Training Spaniels".
