There was heroism too, with the Glowworm ramming the mighty Hipper, the torpedoing of the Scharnhorst by the Acasta, the last act before she sank with only one survivor, and the gallant attack of the First Battle of Narvik led by Captain Warburton-Lee in the Hardy. Finally, as is customary in war, there was tragedy, when the aircraft carrier Glorious and her two escorts were surprised and sunk by German battlecruisers as they were returning from their final operation in the campaign.This edition contains an extended preface by David Brown, former head of the Naval Historical Branch of the Ministry of Defence, a selection of illustrations and a foreword by the First Sea Lord."Ex military Library stock so expect to see light wear and possible markings and annotations in the text.
