21st century living is hectic. Getting the right ‘life balance’ between rest, work and play seems almost impossible. In five interactive sessions, Life Balance aims to help groups explores: How to build Sabbath time into the crazy pressures of everyday life. How ‘Sabbath attitudes’ can transform the way we spend our time. Each session contains enough material for a 90-minute session and includes guidelines for group study, with full background notes for leaders, interactive activities, questions for discussion and multimedia ideas, and ideas for practical action.

Following on from last year's highly successful "Life Attitudes", Sue Mayfield and Robert Warren have written this new course for Lent 2006. The theme of this year's course is the Sabbath and its relevance as part of the hectic nature of 21st century living. The course focuses on getting the right 'life balance' between rest, work and play. In five interactive sessions, the course aims to help groups explore: how to build Sabbath time into the crazy pressures of everyday life, and how 'Sabbath attitudes' can transform the way we spend our time. The structure of the course is thus: Time to Pause, Time to Celebrate, Time to Rest, Time to Play, and Time to Liberate.
Sue Mayfield writes fiction for teenagers; her recent titles Poisoned and Voices are published by Hodder Children’s Books. She regularly leads workshops and creative writing sessions and has many years youth-work experience.
Robert Warren was Team Rector of St Thomas' in Sheffield, the Church of England's National Officer for Evangelism and then for five years a full-time member of the Springboard Team. His most recent book is The Healthy Churches' Handbook.
Sue Mayfield and Robert Warren also co-authored Life Attitudes, Church House Publishing's hugely successful Lent course for 2005.
