While his practical knowledge and his description of wing-power and how it operates are illuminating, his work is indeed a valuable contribution to the art of flying as well as bird life." Bob Dalton, in the introduction to his Falconry Heritage Series edition, while praising Fleming's knowledge of flight and aviation, criticises his anthropomorphism and finds much fault with his knowledge as a falconer. .
