Synopsis
In his annual report of 1959, when his lengthy pastorate was entering its final phase, the parish priest of Granard set out 'to catalogue (as a matter of interest and curiosity) the preoccupations of the clergy...apart from their essential duties of masses, confessions, devotions, baptisms, sick calls, funerals...'. This book explores this involvement by examining parish administration, parish ministry and the patterns of religious practice as these emerge from the thorough and carefully compiled parish records.
