MICHAEL ORKIN, Ph.D., is professor of statistics at California State University, Hayward. An authority on gambling and game theory, he has consulted for government agencies (US) and the private sector, and has led in-service workshops on gambling games for FBI agents and Bureau of Indian Affairs gaming agents. He has testified as an expert witness in various court cases and performed statistical analyses for attorneys in civil and criminal cases. In addition, Orkin has developed software for Las Vegas oddsmakers, educational video games and information systems for attorneys.
