Synopsis

This second edition will confirm the reputation of Hickey and Doherty's Dictionary of Irish History as a standard work of reference. Every article from the first edition has been revisited and revised. New articles have been added, including all the material pertaining to the last two decades. D.J. Hickey is a retired telecommunications officer and author. J.E. Doherty is a teacher and author. Both have researched and written widely in Irish history over many years. Their Chronology of Irish History since 1500 is also a standard reference book.
