More than anything else I want people to discover just how easy and enjoyable it can be to cook delicious food - and what a marvellous difference it can make to everyday life. Such is the philosophy of Darina Allen, owner of the renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School, which attract students from all over the world and is revolutionising the culinary image of Ireland. With recipes for everyday fare such as Ballymaloe Bacon Chop and Hake in Buttereed Crumbs, as well as traditional Irish dishes like Dingle Pie and spectacular dinner-party creations such as Vanilla Ice-cream served in an Ice Bowl, Darina describes how to prepare meals that are truly outstanding but not necessarily expensive.
