Published simultaneously by Manchester University Press and Barnes& Noble in 1975, here is the excellent first hardback printing of The poem of the CID introduced with notes by Ian Michael and translated by Rita Hamilton and Janet Perry. Red cloith binding, gilt spine lettering, 242 pages plus mint condition fold-out map at rear, the book is in very good condition with the bookplate of a previous owner to the front paste down, some moderate browning throughout plus some spotting to the extreme outsides of the page edges. the dust jacket is good plus with a single jagged closed tear to the front top edge plus some creasing at the same juncture and some very light staining/ finger marking to the covers.
