HILARY THOMAS is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Oncology at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, Hammersmith Hospital, London. She specialises in the treatment of gynaecological and breast cancers and has a PhD in the biology of breast cancer.

KAROL SIKORA is Professor of Clinical Oncology at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, Hammersmith Hospital, London, and Joint Director for Cancer Services for the Hammersmith and Charring Cross Hospitals. He is a member of the UK Health Department's Expert Advisory Group on Cancer.
