From her first book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit (1902) she went on to create a series of stories based around animal characters including Mrs Tiggy-winkle, Mr Jeremy Fisher and Tom Kitten. Her humorous, lively tales and beautiful illustrations have become a natural part of childhood.
A source of inspiration was the Lake District where she lived for the last thirty years of her life as a farmer and conservationist.

With explanatory leaflet giving a brief biography of Beatrix Potter and the history of the publication of The Tale of Two Bad Mice. Contained in a blue hinged box with silver title and square onlay to front. Also includes a blue leather foil-blocked bookmark. This is copy no. 23. Contained in original brown packaging box (with limitation details label to front) and 'cotton' (referring to binding) written in blue biro to front. This copy would make a wonderful gift.
